Teaching Methods Utilized at Crossroads Academy

We use several Lindamood-Bell® programs as our delivery method to help our students to be able to retrieve information more readily.




Lindamood-Bell® is an organization dedicated to enhancing human learning. Lindamood-Bell® was founded in 1986 by Nanci Bell, Patricia Lindamood, and Phyllis Lindamood, the authors of critically acclaimed programs that teach children and adults to read, spell, comprehend and express language. Lindamood-Bell®’s programs stimulate basic sensory functions related to learning and are recognized as being effective in the instruction of dyslexia, hyperlexia, autism, and learning disabilities in general.


At Crossroads Academy, we utilize the following Lindamood-Bell® Teaching Programs:

The On Cloud Nine Math® is part of the Lindamood-Bell Teaching program successfully stimulates the ability to image and verbalize the concepts underlying math processes. Concept and Numeral imagery are integrated with language and applied to math computation and problem solving. There is emphasis on both mathematical reasoning and mathematical computation.

The Nancibell® Visualizing and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking successfully stimulates concept imagery. Individuals become able to image gestalts which include color, and even movement. This improves their language comprehension, reasoning for critical thinking, and expressive language skills.

The Nancibell® Seeing Stars® Imagery for Phonemic Awareness, Sight Words and Spelling Program successfully develops symbol imagery and directly applies that sensory-cognitive function to sight word development, contextual fluency, spelling and increasing the speed and stability of phonemic awareness.
